I began with the idea of making a bracelet from the binding ring at the top of the capstan. After I had the bracelet, I needed a setting for it and I was reminded of an illustration in one of the Narnia books ('Voyage of the Dawn Treader', I believe) of a dragon with an arm bracelet, and decided to produce my own version. The coins are a modified Photo Object. The dragon's arm was modeled on a flat stock drawing and was given a 3D look with shading and an emboss layer style. The floor and wall were manufactured.
