The icing stripes on the candy apples reminded me of Christmas ornaments, so I created some. The balls are circles filled with a radial gradient and colored with a hue/saturation adjustment layer. The stripes are arcs of elliptical selections with an added stroke. The background is a modified stock photo of cedar branches.
