This began with a memory from my childhood (singing 'Oh Little Town of Bethlehem') and I tried to recreate my image of Bethlehem from that time. The buildings are rectangles and circles filled with color with some noise added, then shaded with gradients and given some depth with a little edge touch up with a soft white brush. The hills were drawn with the lasso and again filled with color, noise and gradients. Render>clouds added a little mist. The star was drawn with a small hard brush. The text is from St. Luke. The font is American Uncial. The overall look comes from the watercolor filter applied to a merge version with the opacity reduced and the top portion of the image masked.
