Above the sentinel in the door there is what looks like a Masonic compass symbol. I decided to recreate it and see where it led me. Since compasses measure something, I cast about for other Art Deco objects and was reminded of the bronze base for the eternal flame under the Arc de Triomphe. I used a picture I took last summer and this image took shape. The font is Seagull with a bevel and single pixel black stroke. The hand is a modified Photo Object. The sky is a gradient and the clouds are a brush. The ground is a pattern fill.
