I took the original on a recent trip to Scottsdale, Arizona. The statue sits outside an art gallery at the main crossroads of Scottsdale's old town center. While I was there, I read news articles about the upcoming Parada del Sol, an equestrian and horse-drawn vehicle parade. The background is from render>clouds>difference clouds with a render>lighting omni to add the glow and some depth. I filled a new layer with black in a slightly enlarged selection of the cowboy's head and gave it an emboss style so that the cowboy looks like it is 3D but slightly embedded in the background. The font is Nueva with an emboss style and an exterior stroke.
