A
colorized version of the previous restoration. I used
solid color adjustment layers set to color blend mode
with masks for most of the colorization. For the dress,
I made a separate layer from a selection of the gingham,
applied the find edges filter, then used curves to exaggerate
the light/dark differences and deleted the white. This
left me with some of the crossing lines, which I colored
green and then used as an overlay on a blue colorized
version of the dress. If you don't look too closely, it
looks like the green is part of the pattern. Having learned
that the child is a boy and that prior to 1920 pink was
a boy's color (so masculine, they said), I used that color
for his dress.
