The
railroad dining cars re-used as a McDonald's reminded
me of riding trains back and forth across country when
I was in college. One particularly memorable run was on
the Santa Fe between Chicago and Los Angeles. I decided
to try recreating one of the cars in Santa Fe livery.
The shell of the car was made from blurred lines with
a bevel and chrome layer style. The livery colors were
picked off a stock image of a Santa Fe locomotive. The
people and the mesa in the reflection are all stock images.
The telegraph poles were made from scratch using filled
selections and bevel layer styles. I had two different
versions of this, so I'm trying something a little different
and letting both versions show -- just roll your mouse
over the image to see the other version.
